Agent traffic is welcome on the purchase path. Nothing on this site blocks an
automated browser: no CAPTCHA, no bot challenge, no form-timing check, no
honeypot field on the checkout endpoint, and no modal on the cart, checkout,
thank-you or order-status pages.

The loop, end to end:
1. Add a variant to the cart from its product page. The button's accessible name carries the live price and is not a fixed string — it reads "Add to Cart · $<price>" ("Subscribe & save · $<price>" when a subscribe cadence is selected) — so match on the "Add to Cart" / "Subscribe & save" prefix rather than the full string.
2. Open /cart and use "Checkout →".
3. On /checkout, fill the shipping form and submit with "Submit order → Email me a Square invoice". No card details are entered on this site, ever.
4. You land on /checkout/thanks, which shows the order number and total and forwards in about 1.5 seconds to the hosted Square invoice page. The link is also on the page as "Pay now on Square"; add ?stay=1 to the thanks URL to stop the forward.
5. Pay the card form on Square's page. Square hosts it; botanCBD never sees the card.
6. The invoice description carries a return link to https://www.botancbd.com/orders/<token> — that is the order's own status page. Open it after paying: it asks Square for the payment state on load and then updates itself, so it reads "Paid — we're packing it" without waiting for a webhook.

Machine-readable status: GET https://www.botancbd.com/api/orders/<token>/status
returns {ok, status, paidAt, total, ref, nextStep} as JSON. The token comes
from the checkout response and from the return link above; it is the only
credential for that order, so treat it as a secret and do not publish it.
GET /api/orders/<token>/pay re-mints the hosted Square pay link and redirects
to it, so a link never expires on you.

Payment is always human-approved on Square's own page. There is no merchant
API, protocol endpoint or delegated-payment token that can settle an order
here, and we will never claim one exists.
