Drug Test
Definition
Workplace drug tests typically screen for THC metabolites. Pure CBD is not on standard drug-test panels — but full-spectrum CBD with trace THC can produce positive results.
Standard 5-panel and 10-panel drug tests look for THC-COOH, a metabolite of delta-9 THC. They don't directly test for CBD.
Broad-spectrum (THC-free) CBD products are formulated for drug-tested professionals. Full-spectrum products contain up to 0.3% delta-9 THC — over weeks of consistent use, that trace amount can accumulate enough to potentially trigger a positive workplace screen, similar to how poppy seeds can trigger an opioid result. If you're drug-tested, choose broad spectrum.
