CBG (Cannabigerol)
Pronunciation: /kan-uh-big-er-ROL/
Definition
CBG is a minor cannabinoid often called the 'mother cannabinoid' because other cannabinoids are synthesized from its acidic form (CBGa) in the plant.
CBG is non-intoxicating, like CBD. It's typically found in low concentrations (under 1%) in mature hemp plants because most CBGa converts to other cannabinoids during plant maturation.
Early research suggests CBG may interact with cannabinoid receptors differently than CBD does. Specialty CBG products are emerging in the market, often paired with CBD in 1:1 or 2:1 ratios.
