MCT Oil
Also known as: Medium-Chain Triglyceride Oil
Definition
MCT oil — medium-chain triglycerides, derived from coconut or palm — is the most common carrier oil for CBD tinctures because it improves absorption.
MCTs are a category of fats that the body metabolizes faster than long-chain fats. They're absorbed directly through the portal vein to the liver, providing quick energy.
As a CBD carrier, MCT oil helps the fat-soluble CBD molecule dissolve and absorb. It's neutral-tasting, shelf-stable, and well-tolerated. botanCBD uses organic MCT oil in our drops.
