Salve / Topical CBD
Pronunciation: /SAV/
Definition
A CBD salve is a topical product where CBD is suspended in a fat-based balm and applied to the skin for localized effect.
Topical CBD doesn't enter the bloodstream meaningfully — it acts locally on receptors in the skin and underlying tissue. That makes salves useful for targeted application (sore muscles, joints, skin) but not for systemic effects.
Salves often combine CBD with botanicals like arnica, menthol, camphor, or capsaicin for additional localized effect. Topicals are also drug-test-safe regardless of spectrum, since CBD doesn't reach the bloodstream.

- Drug TestWorkplace drug tests typically screen for THC metabolites. Pure CBD is not on standard drug-test panels — but full-spectrum CBD with trace THC can produce positive results.
