ISO 17025

Definition

ISO 17025 is the international quality standard for testing and calibration laboratories. CBD COAs should come from labs accredited under this standard.

ISO/IEC 17025 specifies general requirements for the competence, impartiality, and consistent operation of laboratories. An accredited lab has been audited by a qualified external body to confirm it meets the standard.

When evaluating a CBD COA, check the lab section for an ISO 17025 accreditation number. If the lab isn't accredited, the test results carry less weight.
