Lazarus grows and manufactures in Oregon. That is real vertical integration at a price most farm-story brands will not match — $40 / 1,500mg, $120 / 6,000mg (August 2026), plus a 60% assistance program. The trade: full-spectrum default, assertive hemp taste, isolate if you need THC-free. Buy Lazarus if control of the chain and per-mg are both required and you are not tested.

Charlotte's Web can name farms in Colorado and Kentucky. They grow at a scale nobody else on this list matches. That is integration. It is also a publicly traded company with retail distribution, not a family bottling four products. They place because the hemp is real and American; they do not win because a founder still answers the inbox.

The bottom line
Vertical integration is a supply-chain claim, not a personality. botanCBD wins #1 because Kentucky/Ohio hemp, a four-SKU line, and a same-day COA are things we can still check. Lazarus is the cheap Oregon integrator. Cornbread is the certified Kentucky one. A farm photo on a white-label bottle is not this list.

Does botanCBD own the farms?
We work directly with Kentucky and Ohio organic farm partners. That is vertical enough to control the extract we bottle. It is not the same sentence as 'we own every acre.' We will not dress it up.
Is USDA Organic required for integration?
No. It is a certification on top of a chain. Cornbread has it. We use organic practices and do not carry the USDA mark on the bottle. If the mark is your hard requirement, Cornbread wins.
Why isn't Joy #1? They source U.S. organic hemp.
Joy is family-owned and American-sourced. This page weights control of grow-through-bottle more tightly. They belong on our family-owned and organic lists.
Does integration change the oil?
It changes how many hands touch it and whether we can produce the batch PDF. The hemp still has to test. Buy the COA, not the origin story alone.
