Check the policy before the product
Construction is a safety-sensitive trade. Many employers and general contractors test at hire, after an incident, and at random, and some sites run a zero-tolerance policy. Standard panels look for a THC metabolite, not for CBD. Full-spectrum oil legally contains trace THC, and daily use can add up. That is why the first decision is a THC-free bottle.
The U.S. Department of Transportation's office of drug and alcohol policy put out a notice on CBD in February 2020 (read October 2026). It says DOT tests for marijuana, not CBD, that product labels can be misleading about THC, and that CBD use is not a legitimate medical explanation for a confirmed positive. If your role falls under DOT rules, such as commercial driving, read it. If it does not, ask your safety manager or union rep for the written policy before you make this a habit.
What the COA is for
Every batch of ours is third-party tested. The THC line you want on the broad-spectrum report is ND or <LOQ, not a vague "under 0.3%." Send us the batch number on your bottle and we send the matching PDF. Reports are also listed at /coas.
Keep that PDF with the bottle at home. It is documentation, not a waiver. We cannot promise your employer's cutoff, your lab's screen, or a confirmatory test. Anyone who guarantees a pass is selling you a sentence they cannot honor.
Evening only, and never before equipment
If you use CBD at all, make it part of the evening routine you have already practiced. Most adults start at 10 to 25 mg, which is roughly half to one full dropper on the 500mg bottle (about 17 mg per full dropper). Hold it under the tongue, then give it a few weeks before you change anything.
Do not take a new serving before a shift, before driving, or before running a saw, lift or crane. Nobody knows how a new product sits with you until you have tried it on a night off. Start low, go slow, and talk to your doctor, especially if you take other medication.
Do not leave oil in the truck
Our drops are hemp extract in organic coconut-derived MCT oil. A bottle left on a dashboard or in a closed cab in summer is a bottle you are cooking. Heat and sun are what shorten the life of any oil. Keep the bottle at home in a cabinet, and take it there.
The salve stick is the one thing meant to travel. It is a twist-up stick, so there is no jar and no mess on your gloves. It is sold out as we write this in October 2026, so we cannot tell you when it ships. Check the product page for status.
What we do not know
We do not know your employer's testing method or cutoff. We do not know how your body handles CBD. Research on CBD is early, and we do not make claims about what it does for a body worn down by a hard week.
If you work in a trade where one positive screen costs you the job, the honest answer may be to skip CBD entirely. That is a fair call, and we would rather you make it than take a risk we cannot cover.
Arnica Infused Organic CBD Salve Stick
A twist-up stick for hands, forearms and shoulders at the end of the day, skin only and never on broken skin. It is total-spectrum with trace THC, it currently reads sold out, and a topical is still not a test guarantee.
FAQ
What is the best CBD for construction workers?
For a worker who may be screened, the best fit from botanCBD is the THC-free broad-spectrum drops with a batch COA that reads ND or <LOQ for THC, taken in the evening. We cannot guarantee any workplace screen, so check your employer's policy first.
Will CBD make me fail a construction drug test?
We will not promise a pass. Standard screens look for a THC metabolite, and full-spectrum oil contains trace THC. Our broad-spectrum drops are made with the THC removed, and we send the matching batch COA. Employers, labs and confirmatory tests differ, so ask before you start.
Should I take CBD before work on a job site?
No. Do not take a new serving before a shift, driving, or operating equipment. If you use CBD, keep it to the evening, after work is done, at a serving you have already tried on a night off.
Can I keep CBD oil in my truck?
We would not. Our drops are hemp extract in MCT oil, and a hot cab is hard on any oil. Keep the bottle at home and out of direct sun.
Is the salve stick safe for drug-tested jobs?
The salve stick is for skin only, never broken skin, and it is total-spectrum with trace THC. A topical is not considered a meaningful bloodstream route, but that is not a workplace waiver. If your policy is zero-risk, ask first. It currently reads sold out.
How do I prove what is in my bottle?
Every batch is third-party tested. Send us the batch number on your bottle and we send the matching COA, or look at /coas. Keep the PDF at home with the bottle.
