Best CBD for Veterans
Organic CBD Oil Oral Drops - THC Free Broad Spectrum
THC removed, with a batch COA you can read yourself. If you still hold a federal job, a security clearance or a VA role that tests, it is the only one of our oils we would hand you. Start with 500mg ($35) and move up only if the serving becomes a habit.

The policy facts, plainly
If you are currently serving, stop here. A 2019 Military.com report, republished by MOAA, quotes a Defense Department researcher calling CBD "completely forbidden for use by any service member in any of the services." The services issued orders under Article 92 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and the Navy secretary warned that labels should not be used to predict a positive urinalysis. We read that page in October 2026. We would rather lose a sale than see anyone on active duty risk their career on a label.
If you have separated, that prohibition no longer governs you. Federal law (the 2018 Farm Bill) allows hemp products at or under 0.3% delta-9 THC, and states add their own rules, which you can check on our CBD laws page. Federal jobs, contractor roles and some employers still test, and that is where the THC-free choice matters.
What the VA says, and what it does not
VA's public health page on marijuana (read October 2026, last updated August 2023) says VA providers discuss cannabis use with veterans as part of care planning, record it in the confidential medical record, and that veterans are not denied benefits because of it. It also says VA clinicians may only prescribe medications the FDA has approved and that most products containing CBD are not approved for that purpose. So the VA will talk with you. It will not prescribe or recommend CBD.
Our advice is practical. Tell your VA provider what you take and how much, and bring the bottle and the COA. They need the full picture for your medications. Also note that VA grounds follow federal law, and veterans who are VA employees are subject to drug testing under their terms of employment.
A simple routine
Pick one time of day and keep it boring. Most adults start at 10 to 25 mg, held under the tongue for a minute or so, then swallowed. A full dropper of the 500mg bottle is about 17 mg, and the 1,500mg is about 50 mg, so a partial dropper is the right start on the stronger bottle. Give a serving a week before you change it.
Our drops are hemp extract in organic coconut-derived MCT oil, with real essential oil for flavor in Fresh Mint and Peruvian Lime. We do not market them as nano CBD. This is a wellness product, not a medical one, and this page makes no claims about any condition. Talk to your doctor first, especially if you take prescription medication.
How to read a COA before you trust a bottle
A COA is the third-party lab report for a specific batch. Match the batch number on the bottle to the number on the report. Then look at three things: the lab is independent, the cannabinoid totals match the label, and the THC line. For a THC-free oil that line should read ND (not detected) or <LOQ (below the limit of quantification), not a vague "under 0.3%."
We test every batch with a third party and send the report on request or at our COAs page. A report does not guarantee any employer's result. Testing labs and cutoffs differ, so if a job depends on it, ask the testing authority in writing before you start.
Discounts: what we do and do not have
We checked our own rewards page in October 2026 and it lists no military or veteran discount, so we are not going to pretend one exists. What we have is points on every order (100 points is $5 off), and Subscribe and save at 40% off each delivery. A family-owned shop our size picks its prices once and keeps them.
If the budget is tight, the 6,000mg bottle at $165 is $0.0275 per mg, our lowest, but only worth it if you will use it. If you are new, the 500mg at $35 is the honest place to begin.
Organic CBD Oil Oral Drops - Full Spectrum
Full-spectrum carries trace THC under 0.3%. If nobody tests you and you like the whole-plant profile, the 1,500mg at $65 is our best value per mg for that style. If anyone tests you, skip it.
FAQ
Can active-duty service members use CBD?
No. Defense Department policy, reported by Military.com in 2019, prohibits hemp and CBD products for all service members, and the services enforce it under Article 92 of the UCMJ. Labels cannot be trusted to predict a drug-test result. This page is for veterans only.
Does the VA prescribe or recommend CBD?
No. VA's public health page says VA clinicians may only prescribe medications the FDA has approved and that most CBD products are not approved. VA providers do discuss cannabis use with veterans and record it in the medical record, and veterans are not denied benefits for it.
What is the best CBD for a veteran who may be drug tested?
A THC-free broad-spectrum oil with a batch COA reading ND or <LOQ for THC. Ours is the THC-free broad-spectrum drops, from $35. No brand can guarantee another party's test, so check your testing policy first.
Does botanCBD offer a veteran or military discount?
No. We checked our rewards page in October 2026 and it shows none. We offer rewards points (100 points is $5 off) and Subscribe and save at 40% off each delivery.
How much CBD should a veteran start with?
Most adults start at 10 to 25 mg and hold that for a week before changing it. A full dropper of our 500mg bottle is about 17 mg. Start low, go slow, and talk to your doctor first, especially on prescription medication.
Should I tell my VA doctor I use CBD?
Yes. VA providers are encouraged to discuss it and record it so your care plan is complete. Bring the bottle and the batch COA so they can see exactly what you take.
