The human bottle fails a dog in three specific ways
THC first. Dogs carry a higher density of CB1 receptors in parts of the brain and they clear THC more slowly. An amount that is legal trace in a full-spectrum adult bottle can be a real problem for a dog. That is why every pet oil worth buying is broad-spectrum with ND THC.
Flavor second. Fresh mint and peruvian lime are why humans finish our oil. They are a poor plan for a muzzle. Citrus and peppermint oils are poorly tolerated by some animals. Bacon exists so you are not arguing with a new dog about mint.
Math third. A 20 lb dog's starting serving is a fraction of a dropper. A 1,500mg human bottle at 50mg/mL is easy to overshoot if you 'just give a drop.' Pet oil at 16.7mg/mL is still easy to overshoot — which is why the weight calculator and a vet conversation exist.

Can I give my dog my mint CBD oil?
We do not recommend it. If the bottle is full-spectrum it contains THC dogs handle poorly. Mint and lime are the wrong flavors. The serving is easy to get wrong. Buy the pet bottle and ask your vet.
Can I take the dog oil?
Nothing in our pet bottle is unsafe for an adult — same broad-spectrum extract in the same MCT oil. You would be paying for bacon and capping yourself at 16.7mg/mL. Human oil is the better per-mg buy for you.
How much CBD for a 40 lb dog?
Veterinary literature commonly starts at 1–2mg per 10 lb, often split twice a day. For 40 lb that is roughly 4–8mg daily — about 0.25–0.5mL of our 500mg pet drops. Start low. Your vet's number wins.
Is this safe for puppies?
